What does a cabinet maker actually do?
A cabinet maker designs, builds and fits fixed cabinetry — kitchen cabinets, vanities, pantries, laundry cupboards and built-in storage — to the exact dimensions of your room. That is different from a carpenter, who works on the structure of the house, and from a kitchen designer, who draws the layout but does not manufacture anything.
Dynasty Importers is a family-run Melbourne cabinet maker with more than 20 years’ local experience. We design, supply and install kitchen, bathroom and laundry cabinetry from our warehouse and showroom at 77 Main Road, Clayton South. Standard-size flat-pack cabinets are stocked for pick-up; made-to-measure cabinetry is manufactured to your drawings and installed by our own team.

How much do custom cabinets cost in Melbourne?

What is the difference between a cabinet maker and a carpenter?
A cabinet maker designs, manufactures and installs fixed cabinetry such as kitchen cabinets, vanities and pantries, built to your room’s exact dimensions. A carpenter works on the structure of the house — framing, doors, decking — and may hang pre-made cabinets but does not make them. For a new kitchen, bathroom vanity or laundry, a cabinet maker is the trade you need.

What is a two-pack finish, and is it worth it?
A two-pack (2 pac) finish is a two-part polyurethane paint that is sprayed onto the cabinet door and baked, giving a seamless, moisture-resistant surface in matt or gloss, or as a shaker-profile door. How long does it take to get custom cabinets made?
Standard flat-pack cabinets are stocked at Clayton South and can be picked up straight away. Made-to-measure cabinetry from Dynasty Importers is manufactured after the final measure, and we confirm your lead time and installation date with your quote.
Do you make bathroom vanities and laundry cabinets as well as kitchens?
Yes. Dynasty Importers supplies floor-mount and wall-hung vanities, shaving cabinets, tallboys and laundry cupboards in the same finishes as its kitchens. Shower screens and tiles aren't supplied by us, but can be arranged on request as part of your bathroom renovation.
